J.B. Brown & Sons’ strengths lie in the experienced ensemble of professionals operating the company. Vin Veroneau, President and CEO, leads a team of esteemed employees with a vast background in commercial real estate. Joe Kane, Vice President of Finance, oversees all financial aspects of the company. Trish McLellan, Vice President of Operations, ably oversees capital improvements, tenant improvements and is responsible for running our property management functions.
Vincent P. Veroneau – President and CEO
Vin joined J.B. Brown as President in January 2005. He has been involved in commercial real estate development, asset management, and marketing since 1987. Prior to his association with the Company, he was a partner at North Atlantic Commercial Brokers in Portland, Maine, and a commercial leasing manager with Northland Development Corporation. He holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of San Francisco, an M.B.A from the University of Southern Maine, and a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law. In addition, he has taken several real estate courses in the Community Planning & Development graduate program at the Muskie School of Public Policy. He currently serves as a Director of both Bangor Savings Bank and DBH Management, Inc. and is a Trustee of the Waynflete School.
Patricia McLellan – Vice President of Operations
Trish joined J.B. Brown & Sons in 2005 providing an organizational aspect to J.B. Brown & Sons. Trish oversees management of the portfolio, capital and tenant improvements, budgeting, expense reconciliations, and staffing. She has worked in the property and asset management field since 1985 and holds the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from BOMA. Trish has managed property and leasing operations for new and re-development properties in New England and the Mid-West including; office buildings, retail, parking, Condos, and mixed-use sites. She has worked for owners/developers as well as institutional owners and third-party managers. Trish received her B.A. degree from Norwich University. Trish has been a Board Member of Portland Downtown since 2013 and currently serves as Vice Chair.
Joe Kane – Vice President of Finance
Joe joined J.B. Brown & Sons as Controller in July 2014 and was promoted to Vice President of Finance in January 2018. Prior to his association with the Company, he was an Audit Senior at Baker Newman & Noyes, CPA’s. Joe is a State of Maine Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Maine Society of CPA’s and the AICPA. He holds a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA from Husson University. At Husson he was the Valedictorian of his class as well as a four year member of the basketball team. Joe is primarily responsible for the financial operations of the company.
Gillian West – LEED AP, Property Manager
Gillian joined J.B. Brown & Sons as a Property Manager in March 2015. Gillian manages a number of properties and assists with the design & planning of suites and structures in our portfolio. Prior to joining J.B. Brown & Sons she worked for Katinas Bruckwick Architecture in Washington DC designing residential and commercial spaces. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from Washington State University & a Masters of Real Estate Development from the University of Maryland.
Ken Mitsui – Leasing & Project Manager
Ken joined J.B. Brown & Sons as Leasing & Project Manager in 2016 focusing on leasing commercial space, as well as project and asset management. Ken has worked in the property and asset management field since 2007. Prior to joining J.B. Brown & Sons he was a Property Manager for CBRE/New England in Boston, MA, where he managed a variety of asset classes and types working for institutional owners as a third-party manager. Ken is an active member of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association and a board member of the Portland 2030 District. He holds a B.A in Business from Saint Michaels College.
